(Podcast 12.2.20) The Hiddenness of God and Our Faith

Tree In Field

By: Brian G. Chilton and Curtis Evelo | December 2, 2020

The hiddenness of God is a concept that many do not like to discuss. As human beings, we take comfort in the things that we can control and understand. But if something leaves us stumped or stupefied, we want to resolve the issue. To our dismay, certain things about God can never be known, at least not on this side of eternity. On this edition of the Bellator Christi Podcast, Brian and Curtis discuss the hiddenness of God and why the mysterious areas of God’s nature push us to trust him more.

1. Describe the hiddenness of God. What do we mean by the hiddenness of God?
2. What does the hiddenness of God tell us about his sovereignty and hidden plan, especially with Psalm 33?
3. How does Romans 8:28 fit within the hiddenness of God?
4. How does the hiddenness of God integrate with the incarnation of Christ? Heb 1:3
5. In what ways do we neglect the hiddenness of God or show our lack of faith in God’s hidden plan? (Idols, commercialization of Christmas, etc.)
6. How does the hidden plan of God fit within our failed church plans?

7. How do we build trust/faith in God’s hidden plan?
