(Podcast 3.9.18) Gnosticism and the Church (w. Dr. Leo Percer)

Leo Percer

Gnosticism was an early heretical movement that was combated by the church. What exactly is Gnosticism? What did Gnostics believe about the world’s creation, and the dichotomy between the material and spiritual world? What did they believe about salvation and Christ’s role in the salvific process? What connections did the Gnostics hold with the non-canonical Gospels, such as the Gospel of Thomas? Dr. Percer answers these questions, plus speculates what impact the early fragment of Mark’s Gospel holds for the apologetic world and for NT studies if the fragment holds. Join us today for a power-packed podcast as we are joined by Dr. Leo Percer, the Director of PhD studies at Liberty University.
