When I started my podcast, I had the goal of not only to telling my listeners about the problems faced in the world, but also to give them solutions. I provided my listeners four ways to live a better life. They are as followed:
- Spiritual Growth
- Turn Off The Television
- Eat Fresh Fruits and Vegetables and Drink More Water
- Take Your Money Out Of Paper and Out Of The Big Banks
In the following, I will be breaking down and explaining each principle for you.
The first and most important means of a better life is found through spiritual growth. That is, growing in your spiritual path and growing in God’s word. Read it, study it, and learn from it as it provides a solid foundation in an ever-changing world. It is also good to have several resources that you can turn to when studying the word of God. In my opinion, you have found one of the best with Pastor Brian Chilton and the Bellator Christi website and the Bellator Christi Podcast.
Turn Off The Television
This one was hard for me to do as I am a big sports fan. But, I discovered that by watching so much television, I was hurting myself physically, as well. The reason is that when one watches television, his or her mind goes into a sleep like state as has been proven by several recent medical studies. When I did the research and found these results to be correct and accurate, I decided to cut back on my consumption of television and started to read more and listened to the radio. By reading and listening to the radio, you will engage your brain and let your imagination run wild with the descriptions of what you read or hear. For example, my favorite college team’s football games are broadcast on the radio where I live. I decided that I would listen to the games instead of watching them on television. The announcer’s description of the game on the radio made the action become more alive in my mind than it did by watching the games on television.
But another benefit from lessening one’s consumption of television is that you are not just sitting around on the couch but you are up and moving around getting exercise, thus keeping your body active and healthy.
Eat Fresh Fruits and Vegetables and Drink More Water
The problem with foods this day and time is majority of them are made for things that is not good for the human body. Reason being is that the majority of the fruit and vegetables are being grown from seeds that have been genetically altered thus making them a Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). GMOs are very harmful for the body especially the digestive system, the brain, and every other major organ. The research is starting to come forth and prove what has been known for years. One example of this is the corn engineered by a company called Monsanto which makes corn known as BT Corn, which has been engineered with pesticides inside of the kernels. It makes you wonder when it kills the insects and bugs eating it, what is it doing to your body?
Drinking more water is a great way to help refreshed and rehydrated. When I was growing up, I liked water and would drink it, but as I got older, the temptation of soft drinks was too great for me. I was addicted to Mountain Dew, the sweet tasting sugary soft drink that tastes so good. As I grew older and started working full time and became less active in sports, I stayed thirstier when I drunk too many soft drinks. I decided to get more active and started drinking more water and less soft drinks. To make long story short, water is better than soft drinks because the soft drinks contain high fructose corn syrup and other harmful substances.
Take Your Money Out Of Paper and Out Of The Big Banks
To best answer this suggestion, I would advise a person to take their money out of larger banks and place them in smaller ones. The reason is that with the big banks (in my opinion), you are just a number associated with an account and not a person. In the smaller local banks, I feel the customer is treated as a person and will get better customer service. It’s time to make your money work for you not the big banks.
And what do I mean by taking your money out of paper, it is simple: take it and buy gold and silver coins and have them as a backup as currency to barter with in the case of an economic collapse. You transfer your money to gold, you will need to buy it from a gold dealer or gold coin dealer. If you are like me, when I started out and had very limited extra income, this became an easier way. I started saving silver coins that were made from the year 1965 back. These coins were made with 90% silver as opposed to modern coins which are silver-plated. So, start saving silver coins. Check out your local pawn shop and yard sales where you can stumble upon so many great treasures.
It is time for you to align your mind, body, heart and soul as one and make a better you to be able to protect yourself and your family. Also, in addition to the previous points made, be sure to get plenty rest and sleep for your body.
