(Podcast 4.13.18) 30 Days to Jeremiah and Lamentations (w. Dr. Gary Yates)

Gary Yates

The OT prophets hold a great deal of relevance for NT Christians, perhaps none more than Jeremiah. How do we understand Jeremiah’s prophecy and what relevance does his text hold for us today? To answer that question, we are joined by Dr. Gary Yates, Professor of OT at Liberty University’s Rawling School of Divinity, as he discusses his latest book 30 Days to Jeremiah: A Devotional Commentary. The book is published by Seed Publishing Group and is available on Amazon.com and bookstores everywhere.

Join us as we discuss:

-understanding prophetic texts,

-Jeremiah’s relevance,

-the sovereignty of God and the indestructibility of the believer until God’s plan has been established,

-understanding the wrath of God in context with his willingness to accept repentance,

-authenticity and vulnerability in ministry,

-the Potter and clay, and our willingness to listen to the Holy Spirit,

-further insights on Lamentations,

-explaining the balance between doubt and moving forward in one’s spiritual development,

-the need to trust God more than politicians.

This is a podcast that you do not want to miss!
