Today, our team heard the news that we never expected to hear. Our beloved colleague and friend, Dr. Michelle Johnson, passed into glory this morning. Michelle and I began and finished the PhD program at the same time. She was in my very first class as we adjusted to doctoral studies. We both had our doubts about whether we would be able to finish, but we, along with the other students in the program, encouraged each other along. I was honored to also finish the program around the same time she did. Both of us, along with Dr. Deanna Huff, Dr. Scott Reynolds, Dr. Scott Hyland, Dr. Mark Ragsdale, and numerous others.
Michelle was among the first people to join Bellator Christi when we began opening the ministry to fellow contributors. Because of her trustworthiness and integrity, she was eventually entrusted with the title of Executive Vice President. The role is reserved for those who could take over the ministry in the event that I become incapacitated or those who could take the Bellator Christi name into other areas.
Michelle completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota. She then earned both her Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy at Liberty University in Theology and Apologetics. Like myself, Michelle concentrated on Church History for her minor. Michelle served as a contributor and editor for Why Creationism Still Matters and contributed to Strong Faith.
Because of her work at Bellator Christi, the leadership team unanimously appointed her with the honorary title Executive Vice President Emerita. For as long as the ministry continues, Dr. Johnson will be honored, and her legacy will continue.
On behalf of all of us at Bellator Christi, join us in praying for the family and friends of Dr. Michelle Johnson. Until we meet again, my friend.
Your brother in Christ,
Dr. Brian Chilton
