S8E8 What is Baptism and Communion?
By: Brian G. Chilton, M.Div., Ph.D. | October 31, 2024
As we continue our study into ecclesiology (“the study of the church”), it is important to understand two of the most sacred rituals in the church: baptism and communion. But what are these rituals for and what do they mean? Many Christians are baptized and partake communion without realizing the tremendous significance of both. This episode will examine these ordinances. We will show why they are so meaningful for the Christian and one’s life with Christ.
- What is baptism? (When did it begin?)
- What does it represent when a person is baptized?
- What is communion?
- What does it represent when communion is taken?
- What are the different concepts of communion?
- What is the difference between closed and open communion?
