Bellator Christi is Honored to Welcome Dr. Leo Percer
The Bellator Christi family is honored and privileged to welcome Dr. Leo Percer as the newest member of the team. Dr. Percer is no stranger to Bellator Christi. He has been part of several of our podcasts. Many of our team members met in the Doctor of Philosophy in Theology and Apologetics program at Liberty University. Dr. Leo Percer was one of the instrumental forces that spearheaded this program and guided it to where it is today. For others who have taken classes at Liberty University, especially in New Testament studies, they may recognize him as their former professor. In fact, many may recognize Dr. Percer at graduations as the professor with the green robes (colors of his alma mater–Baylor University).
About Dr. Percer
Dr. Percer grew up in Millington, Tennessee, northeast of Memphis, when he first received his call to teaching ministry. He has been involved in numerous ministerial activities, including serving as an elder at Forest Community Church in Forest, Virginia. Dr. Percer graduated with a Ph.D. from Baylor University, an M.A. from Western Kentucky University, and M.Div. from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a B.A. from Union University.
After graduating with his Ph.D., Dr. Percer has taught at Baylor University, McLennan Community College, and Liberty University, where he served as the Director of the Ph.D. in Theology and Apologetics program for years. His area of expertise is in Second Temple Judaism, the Epistles of Paul, and apocalyptic literature. Dr. Percer is an active member of the Evangelical Theological Society, the Society of Biblical Literature, and is on the board of directors at Ratio Christi.
Dr. Percer resides in Lynchburg, VA with his wonderful wife, Lisa, and two children. He loves reading, collecting comic books, and is a coffee connoisseur.
On a personal note, Dr. Percer served as my dissertation chair. On behalf of the entire Bellator Christi team, we are deeply honored to have Dr. Leo Percer as the newest member of our team. In addition to seeing his writings on the site, he will also help serve as an editor for future publications and as an advisor to the ministry.
Welcome, Dr. Percer!
