Summer Reading
Each year as summer approaches and time seems to rocket by, I find myself having to be even more intentional to take moments of rest. This summer season I’m going to read through the book of Proverbs each month. Along with that, I will be journaling a short note on what I took away from each reading. Now some of those notes may be longer than others and reflect how something affected me and how I can apply it practically in my daily life. I’m curious to see each month as I come back to each proverb what my journal notes look like and how I’m affected by the text each time through.
An Invitation
I’d like to have you as followers of Bellator Christi and followers of the Bellator Christi podcast join me in doing this reading and journaling of the proverbs and report back to me at bellatorchristi.com. Or engage with us in our new season in September on Facebook Live or YouTube Live and tell Brian or me what you received from doing this reading and journaling.
The Plan
The format will look like this, starting June 1st
June 1st read Proverbs Chapter 1
…
June 30th read both Proverbs Chapters 30 & 31
July 1st read Proverbs Chapter 1
…
July 31 – Proverbs Chapter 31
August 1 – Proverbs Chapter 1
…
August 31 – Proverbs Chapter 31
September 1-15 – Reflect on the past readings/journal entries as fall approaches.
Impact
What I’m praying you’ll get out of this reading and journaling is a closer connection with God and a fuller realization that God’s Word can and will alter your daily interaction with His creation and the culture around us.
