S6E25 The Design Argument
On episode S6E25 The Design Argument, Dr. Brian Chilton and Curtis Evelo discuss the design argument and how it offers evidence for God’s existence. Brian and Curtis discuss the following on the podcast:
- Before we begin, since it is Holy Week, let’s take some time to discuss the events of Jesus’s last week on earth before his resurrection.
- What is the design argument for God’s existence?
- Describe William Paley’s “watchmaker analogy.”
- What is irreducible complexity, and how does it fit within the design argument?
- What is the anthropic principle?
- Explain Thomas Aquinas’s version of the design argument.
- While we don’t have time to go into all the objections against the design argument, what are some of the most prominent?
- If we are left with the options of chance, time, nature, or design; which holds the greatest weight?
On the audio edition of the Bellator Christi Podcast, Curtis leads a discussion on Matthew 26:6-16, showing the two different mindsets of Mary and Judas Iscariot regarding Jesus’s death, burial, and resurrection.
