S6E20 The Grace of God: Irresistible or Resistible is today’s episode. Tonight, Brian and Curtis discuss the theological topic of divine grace. Can a person respond to God’s grace? Or, is the Calvinist right in saying that no one can resist the movement of God? We will dive into some deep waters tonight. So, put on your galoshes and tread these waters with us on episode S6E20 The Grace of God: Irresistible or Resistible.
- What do we mean by the irresistibility and resistibility of God’s grace?
- What are the two theories regarding irresistible and resistible faith, and what does each theory teach about the operation of God’s grace and the human will?
- Does Scripture provide evidence that a person willfully responds or rejects God’s grace?
- What is necessary for someone to have a salvific faith?
- When a person comes to Christ, what aspects of a person’s volition are involved?
- Further explain the intellectual assent of the faith.
- What do you mean by the trust of the heart?
- Also, what is involved with the decision of the will?
- Does the non-Calvinist concept of resistible grace in any way diminish the sovereign work of God in salvation?

Hi Pastor Brian. I’ve followed you and your ministry for years and have been richly blessed. Thank you! Just a quick suggestion for your podcasts…would you please try to upgrade your internet connection and router/modem speeds…the lagging on your live and recorded sessions is hard to listen to and is a huge distraction on your excellent teaching. Thank you and God bless.
Thank you, Clark!
I completely understand. Unfortunately, we only have one option for the internet in our area, and the service provider does not offer any additional upgrades. The struggle of being underserved in rural communities is real. Help us pray that our provider would offer better internet services, or that a better service provider would come into our area. We may have to eventually go back to audio recordings. I am going to try moving back into my main office, which is closer to the router, for the next podcast. Let us know if it is better.
Blessings,
Brian Chilton
Thanks Pastor Brian…glad you’re aware of the concern. Your teaching is so good that I don’t want folks to be distracted. Hope your area gets some competition! I know what’s it like to live in rural areas where the network access can be challenging. Blessings to you and your family. Clark
