Last season, we started a series discussing the theological attributes of God. This season, we continue the trend in a new series entitled the Winter Theology Series. In this set of episodes, Brian Chilton and Curtis Evelo discuss Christology, which is the study of Christ. In this first episode of series, Brian and Curtis work through the union of Christ’s divine and human nature, and show how many heresies developed from a faulty understanding of this union.
1. What do we mean when we say that Christ is “divine”?
2. Does the OT give any hints to the divine nature of the Messiah?
3. What evidence do we have that Jesus believed himself to be divine?
4. What does John say about the divine nature of Jesus?
5. What does Hebrews say about the divine nature of Jesus?
6. What does Paul say about the divine nature of Jesus?
7. What evidence do we have of the humanity of Jesus?
8. What heresies developed from a misunderstanding of the union of Jesus’s human and divine nature?
