(Podcast 6.3.20) An Apologetic Response to the Death of George Floyd and a Most Unpredictable Year (w. Melissa Pellew)

Melissa Pellew

Brian Chilton is joined by Melissa Pellew, Co-Chapter Apologist of Ratio Christi of Winthrop University and co-host of Theology Matters with the Pellews. Curtis Evelo could not make it tonight as he is celebrating his daughter’s graduation. Congratulations to her on a job well done! Today, Melissa and Brian discuss the death of George Floyd and how to deal with a year that seems to become more and more unpredictable and volatile as we move along. They deal with the following questions:

  1. How does the message of Christ shape the way we view people from all ethnicities?
  2. How does our view of eternity help us when thinking about injustices that occur like the tragic death of George Floyd?
  3. Have you ever faced racial injustices in your life? If so, how did you handle the issue?
  4. What are good and bad ways to protest to let one’s voice be heard?
  5. On a different note, how has the pandemic affected your apologetics ministry?
  6. What new challenges do you see facing us the remainder of 2020 (one of the craziest years that I ever remember)?
  7. From all of that’s happened, do you think there’s a message that God is trying to convey to us?
  8. Tell us about your ministry and how people can offer support.
