(Podcast 1.17.18) Message: “Responding to Critics” (Acts 11.1-18)

Responding To Critics

Winston Churchill once said, “You have enemies? Good! That means you stood up for something at some time in your life.” While the believer tries to befriend everyone possible, Jesus tells us that we can expect to have enemies if we stand for him and the truth. On this edition of the Bellator Christi Podcast, Brian leads us in a message, discovering how Simon Peter dealt with his critics when he was scorned for accepting individuals to the faith without requiring physical circumcision. How do you deal with critics? Listen today to find out.

  1. Responding to critics requires a RECOGNITION of the critic’s ACCUSATION (11:1-3).
    1. Recognizing the accusation’s ROOT (What is the critic really saying?).
    2. Recognizing the accusation’s REALITY (Am I in the right?).
  2. Responding to critics requires a RESPONSE with a critical ARGUMENT (11:4-17).
    1. Response is argued with REASON (11:4).
    2. Response is argued from REVELATION (11:5-17).
  3. Responding to critics requires a RECONCILIATION if the critic ACCEPTS (11:18).
