The world in itself is a beautifully designed piece of art. Even still, there are locations around the world in which art has been concentrated enough by human design to warrant a visit to satisfy the artist in you. These five locations are the best general and religious art destinations of the world. At these locations, one will find pieces of art from various worldviews that demonstrate great artistic design.

1. The Louvre, Paris

Even without entering The Louvre to behold its more than 35,000 art pieces from across the sands of time, it is already a marvel. Inside, some of the most famous pieces of art such as The Mona Lisa reside here.

2. Vatican Museums, Vatican City

While the Vatican City in general holds some of the most iconic art pieces in history, the centerpiece is the ceiling frescoes in the Sistine Chapel done by Michelangelo.

3. Lakshmana Temple, India

This sandstone temple is more than 1,000 years old and is adorned with many Hindu gods, goddesses and other deities in the most beautiful of sculptures. From the outside to the inside, one will enjoy the many well-crafted religious pieces in the temple.

4. Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City

This New York City museum has brought to life various depictions of ancient history from the major world civilizations such as ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, ancient Europe, the ancient Near East and the Roman empire among others.

5. Storm King Art Center, New York State

This is one of the most iconic places where art prospers in the open fields. While the common art centers are in a building a few square feet large, this one is an open field 500 acres large with some of the most iconic art pieces possible.

Editorial Addendum: It is interesting to note the design found in the various pieces of art as described by Rana. While these various pieces of art represent differing worldviews, it is especially important to note that no one would ever fail to see the exquisite design found in the artwork. In like manner, as Rana noted in the earlier part of the post, the world itself is God’s art, his canvass with a beautiful array of colors and design. As the art portrays the necessity of the artist, likewise creation portrays the necessity of the Creator.
