(BCP) Message: Mere Christianity-The Fundamentals of Christ’s Identity

Huntsville Baptist Church

Last week, we began a new series named after C. S. Lewis’ classic book Mere Christianity. This series examines the core fundamental beliefs of the Christian religion. Last week, Pastor Brian discussed the core essentials of God’s being. This week, Pastor Brian discusses the quintessential aspects of Christ’s identity. Most heresies of antiquity and modernity alike often derive from a false view of Jesus. Heresies, like Arianism, accept Christ’s human nature, but not his divine nature. Whereas, other false views, like Docetism and Gnosticism, accept Christ’s divine nature, but not his humanity. In this message, Pastor Brian discusses why orthodox Christianity must hold both Christ’s divine and human nature.
